The mission of the Kalkaska United Methodist Church is to bring people to a relationship with Jesus Christ and the fellowship of our church, teaching them to become His disciples for the transformation of the world.
For our adults:
We have WOW (Woman of Worship), Men’s Fellowship, men’s and women’s Bible studies, Tuesday morning men’s prayer breakfast, and fellowship time following the Sunday worship service.
Our church is used by many in the community
Besides normal church activities, our building is buzzing with activity by such groups as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, KAIR events, AA, TOPS, and people enjoying several other community events.
For our youth
A nursery is provided during the worship service and for several other church events. It is located in a room next to the sanctuary. Nursery care is provided for newborns to 4- year olds.
For older youth we have:
- Activity bags hanging on hooks in the narthex filled with activities for children to do while they remain in the sanctuary during services.
- A pull out program during the winter months for children 4-7 in the lower level of the building or outside during the sermon portion of the worship service.
- Children 8 and up participate in ATF (Action Task Force for Jesus) right after church service
- Recently upgraded is the play area behind the church building. In addition to normal play equipment, there is tether ball, flowers, a fire pit, and benches.
